Our History

The year was 1952. Mardee Kidd and Val Kidd decided to open a small food store in Lodi, California. They would call it MAR-VAL Food Stores. The company grew to four stores and 180 employees.

Over the years a second generation would start to work in the company, which grew successfully to employ over 270 folks, covering four stores in the unique country towns of Georgetown, Prather, Ripon and Valley Springs.

Many changes over the years where made to allow us to arrive at the point we are today. We are truly excited about our company and its growth. We are dedicated to delivering a variety of services to the community in the manner that reflects its way of life.
